Connect with WordsHow it works

Each book is built with intention. The curated word, the definition, and the contextual sentence are all written within the theme of that book. The dot-grid gives flexibility to write and draw.

Anatomy of a word set

Every curated word lives inside a word set: the word itself, how to pronounce it, what it means, and a contextual sentence that connects it to your life through a prompt, a fun fact, a quote, or a call to action.

Two of these words come from the same song. Bassline and Deacon. Name it.

Another One Bites the Dust, Queen, 1980

Contextual sentences you will meet

The contextual sentence is the fourth line of every word set. It takes a different shape depending on what the curated word calls for.

A prompt hands the page back to you. Three kinds carry a printed label so you know what sort of answer it wants. The other two arrive without one.

T/F:

A statement worth arguing with. Decide true or false, then work out why you landed there.

T/F: You don’t resent the money you lent. You resent that you said yes when you meant no.Excerpt from Money Digest
WWYD:

What would you do. A scene already in motion, with a real cost either way.

WWYD: A rumor about you is wrong. Correcting it makes things worse.Excerpt from Core 13+
WYR:

Would you rather. Two options that both take something from you.

WYR: Put every extra dollar toward debt this year, or start investing while you carry it?Excerpt from Money Digest
Writing

An open line to finish in your own words. There is no right answer, which is the point.

Jot down a word or name you have lost and are still looking for.Excerpt from Wonderment
Drawing

One object, one action, pen only. Drawing skill has nothing to do with it.

Draw a bowl, crack it with a jagged line, then redraw the crack.Excerpt from Matcha Tea
